Hygiene Health™ is an Independent Dental Hygiene Practice, in Kittery (right next to Portsmouth) offering comprehensive, patient-centered dental hygiene services in a comfortable, pressure-free atmosphere. Our goal is to prevent oral disease and preserve healthy tooth structure. We are an alternative setting from traditional dental offices for your dental hygiene services. We focus on preventing cavities and stress gum health, offering dental cleanings for all ages.

Susanne Kuehl, IPDH

Susanne has over 35 years of clinical experience having worked with over twenty dentists in the seacoast area. As owner of Hygiene Health™ and Director of Hygiene Operations she brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to her patients.

Her hybrid career includes marketing roles with Tom’s of Maine, Oral-B, 

Philips Sonicare and most recently WaterPik. Chosen by her peers as the 2014 RDH Mentor of the Year, she is a recognized professional in the oral healthcare industry holding dental hygiene licenses in NH, Maine and Massachusetts.

Susanne loves Kittery and the coast of Maine. She enjoys walking, hiking, 

skiing, kayaking, tennis and 

civil political discourse. 

She really does want world peace.

Amy Stiles Quinn, IPDH

Amy has more than thirty years experience in the field of dental hygiene.  She has practiced in the seacoast for the last twenty years.  A periodontal therapist with compassion for people and their oral health, she invites you to come in and talk with her about your concerns. 

She's accomplished at working with children and geriatrics and everyone in between. Amy cares about patient comfort, both physically and emotionally while in her chair.  Her goal is to help you maintain a healthy mouth and have a pleasant experience at ​​Hygiene Health™

Amy lives in Eliot with her husband and enjoys long walks, short runs and riding their tandem bicycle.

Our Story


Only two states ( Colorado & Maine) allow independent dental hygiene practice. 

In June 2017, Susanne successfully advocated to change the state dental law allowing part-time working moms (like herself) to apply for independent practice status. #NeverthelessShePersisted.
